Warehouse Leeds

The Warehouse first opened in 1979, and is the longest-standing dance music venue in the UK — currently celebrating its 36th year. It did close for a few years in the late noughties before re-opening in May 2011 in full effect.

The Warehouse actually opened before Manchester’s notorious nite-spot the Hacienda, and was one of the epicenters for clubbing in the north of England throughout the '80s and '90s. The Sugar Hill Gang, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Mike Pickering and the Stone Roses were just some of the seminal acts to have played there in the '80s, while during the rave explosion it staged gigs by local hardcore bleep heroes LFO and some emerging DJ called Sasha.

It has seen many scenes, styles and DJs come and go in its time and since being re-opened its airy main room is the perfect place to catch some of the bigger names in underground dance music. The fact that it’s in the clubbing mecca of Leeds in the north of England is the icing on the cake. Recent guests have included Fatboy Slim, Scuba, 2ManyDJs, Steve Lawler, DJ EZ, James Blake, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Gorgon City, Maya Jane Coles, Surgeon, TEED and Pete Tong.
