Leeds has long been touted as the mecca for house and techno, spawning some of the UK’s best-known artists, forward-thinking imprints and charismatic club characters. One such character is Jim Albentosa, a club land kingpin who boasts over 20 years experience in the promotion game and also owns legendary Leeds nightclub, The Warehouse.

Unlike The Warehouse — that opened way back in ’79 with heritage acts like Todd Terry, Andy C and Sasha — Control is a relatively new venture, launching in a blaze of fanfare and anticipation in mid-2013. Since then, Control has welcomed the likes of Pete Tong, Gorgon City and Jamie Jones along with most of the Hot Creations crew.

Set-up-wise no expense has been spared, with the interior at Control akin to that of the big boys in Ibiza. Naturally, there’s Funktion One sound and jaw-dropping production, plus the world's biggest Geodesic Geodome — that’s a fancy way of saying an enormous LED igloo full of flashing lights. Fans of the White Isle, this one’s for you!
