Watergate
17

The only thing scandalous about this Watergate is that it hasn't ranked higher in 2015. A compact club of slick, stylish design, its LED-panelled ceiling inspired those in both Sankeys MCR (Spektrum) and Mint Club. The spin-off label has garnered anthems from the likes of Solomun as well as a mix series featuring Kerri Chandler and Butch. What Watergate lacks in colossal girth it makes up for with the calibre of its talent, with Pan-Pot, Anja Schneider and Richie Hawtin booked for last month alone.

With its distinctive “Waterfloor”, internationally renowned roster of residents (La Fleur, Tiefschwarz, Marco Resman et al) and regular label nights (Diynamic, Cocoon, Vakant), it's an institution in the truest sense of the word. Surviving in arguably Europe's leading city for clubbing is no easy feat, so when you consider that this club has weathered the surrounding gentrification of the River Spree so well since opening its doors back in 2002, Watergate is a certifiable triumph.
