Part of The Palace, a newly opened nightlife complex in the Philippine capital, Valkyrie Club opened its doors last November with only one thing on the agenda: to bring world-class EDM bookings to the most glamorous party people of Manila.

Much like the female Norse mythological figure it borrows its name from (chooser of the slain), this club is particular about who it allows to man the booth.

Already Martin Garrix, Example and Dirty South, among others, have played inside the palatial confines of this large, VIP-heavy auditorium since it opened in November. Fitted all over with luminously lit booths, plush skyboxes, private cabanas and cordoned off mezzanines reserved only for those looking to flash the cash, this is not the sort of joint you rock up to wearing shorts, a tank-top and a pair of flip-flops.
