Looking out over Bristol’s river Avon on a site that dates back over 100 years to the city’s rich industrial past, Motion delivers industrial strength events across every genre and has done so for over 10 years.

Previously doubling-up as a skatepark during the day, Motion now exclusively operates as a club, but has maintained all the street charm and roughness it’s always had (just with even better production that doesn’t have been moved for skaters every morning). Its maze-like layout not only guarantees that essential dizzying feel as you acclimatise to the club, but also creates a flexibility for each night depending on size, line-up or day of the week.

Line-up-wise, in the last year Motion have welcomed everyone from Andy C to Tale Of Us, Laurent Garnier to Bad Company, via renowned Bristol parties such as Just Jack, The Blast, Bitch Please and Shall Not Fade. Tech-wise it’s equally as on-point thanks to the Funktion One system, fine-tuned by the owner and his brother who both come from an audio background. Expect even more on the production-front this year, too as Motion have increased their in-house production team, so it’s now complete with a lighting designer, ensuring their events remain industrial strength for a long time to come.
