This former bus garage revolutionised London clubland when it opened in the early 1990s. With its amazing soundsystem and attention to detail, Ministry played a big part in the ‘90s house music explosion by booking a load of the top US jocks to fly over to the UK and creating line-ups around them. They were a timely home for UK garage for a while, too, and a bit of drum & bass, but as other top London clubs like Fabric and The End put on cooler underground nights, Ministry line-ups started looking a little tired and largely catering for tourists. Not any more, though.

In the last few years, there’s been a real turnaround. DJ Harvey playing all night long last summer has now morphed into a quarterly residency for the iconic spinner. Adam Beyer has come onboard for some events, as has Dixon, and couple those top names with their Glitterbox residency and a smattering of DJ Mag events in recent years — plus the introduction of the pioneering Dolby Atmos surround-sound system in the main room (The Box) — and Ministry is back in the game. After all, who wouldn’t want to play on one of the best soundsystems in the world?
