AVALON Hollywood
9

One of Hollywood’s most historic landmarks, Avalon has played host to everything from The Beatles’ first West Coast performance in 1964, to Sasha’s first West Coast residency. It’s seen many titles since initially opening in 1927 (The Hollywood Playhouse, The WPA Federal Theatre, El Capitan Theatre, etc.), but officially became Avalon in September of 2002. Since then, it’s become a must-attend venue for Hollywood, hosting Rolling Stone Grammy parties, movie premiere events, and groundbreaking residencies from the likes of Sasha, Matthew Dear, and Erick Morillo.

Aside from that, they also host long-running club night Control, which focuses on bringing up-and-coming talent into the spotlight and has helped launch names like Skrillex and Porter Robinson, and sport the Bardot terrace directly above for a more intimate feeling away from main room hubbub. A venue with such a grand history needs a grand stage, and this all happens on a state-of-the-art system with massive 40-inch subwoofers, the largest ever installed in a club. So, if you’re in the mood to dabble in both a bit of chart-topping goodness and something new and unexpected, Avalon might just be one of the grandest stages for you could hope for.
