Mint Club

MINT Club is one of the most treasured jewels in Leeds’ clubbing crown. Its reputation is galvanised by the precision balance of forward-thinking, genre-melting line-ups, a history so rich that legendary Back To Basics promoter Dave Beer actually named the venue back in 1998, and a tangible vibe that’s conjured by the open-minded, friendly northern UK crowd and maintained by the fact that it’s just one room. Amplified and intensified by the low LED ceiling and pristine Funktion One system, Mint’s atmosphere revolves around a feeling that everyone is in it together. The single-room dynamic also creates a real focus on the music, which ranges from bassline to techno courtesy of nights such as System, Get Together, Lord Of The Tings and its faithful residents Bobby O’Donnell, Annie Errez, Tobias and Jimmy Switch. Mint headliners have never needed introduction since the club opened with Derrick Carter; but in the last year the venue has welcomed the very best across the game, from Villalobos to Oneman, Skream to Move D, all relishing the opportunity to go back to their stripped-back, intimate, dark room roots with a crowd they know will appreciate every selection they make. 19 years and still fresh: the clue’s in the title…
