One thing that unites all Brazilian clubs is their locations; you don’t often come across a space that is anything less than magical when raving in Latin America. Matahari certainly fits that category: it’s located on the site of a former farm up on the top of a hill, with a sprawling layout that makes indoor and outdoor areas hard to differentiate from one another. All around it is lush jungle flora and fauna and the Main Stage is encased in no fewer than ten different cabins, which all house part of the soundsystem. On top of the natural beauty are unnaturally large bursts of CO2 and confetti, as well as a big LED ceiling panel that reacts to the music and adds another angle to fire your synapses. Line-ups mix a lot of homegrown stars with occasional big name international guests — Miguel Campbell, Gui Boratto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, HNQO and more have all popped by — and themed parties often play out here, including the annual year ender, The White Party, with plenty more sunset-focused fiestas throughout the year.
