AS an institution, Sankeys is older than many of its punters. Once a Manchester mainstay, Sankeys decamped to Ibiza in 2011 and hasn’t looked back since. Weekend line-ups capture the spirit of the present in Ibiza, as resident Steve Lawler and a succession of guest superstar DJs belt out big room house and techno over three rooms. Last summer saw its Dance 88/89 series look back to where it all came from, remembering its formation in the afterglow of the second summer of love, as the likes of 808 State and Mr. C joined Alfredo and Bushwacka!, while Matt Jam Lamont and Todd Terry rounded out the rest of last summer’s residencies.
