WOMB
39

When Womb opened its doors in 2000, no nightclub existed in Japan offering world-leading electronic music to Tokyo’s dance music fans. Womb was inspired by the North American club scene, and the 1200-capacity club is equipped with top-end lighting, sound and staging equipment. Collaborations with international party brands like Fabric London and Space Ibiza added legitimacy, while artists such as Arca, Seth Troxler, Henrik Schwarz, Sven Väth and Joseph Capriati have played killer sets under the largest mirrorball in Asia. Monthly drum & bass party 06S and techno party STERNE have also helped firmly establish Womb in the Asian club scene in the 17 years it’s been open, while residents such as DJ Aki and Takkyu Ishino have gone on to even bigger things.
