Location: Dubrovnik, Croatia
Culture Club Revelin in the old town of Dubrovnik is an essential place to visit when you’re in Croatia, not least because it is situated inside a 500-year-old medieval fortress. The 2,000-capacity space has great views over the whole city, is fitted with a state-of-the-art Martin Audio system, and boasts some mesmeric lights and lasers to go alongside the underground stars to big dance icons who play there each year.
Last summer the club claims to have had more people through the doors than ever before. Highlights included a live stream project featuring Hot Since 82, a mini-residency from Claptone, its own in-house DU-EL festival with names like Artbat, Roger Sanchez and Jacky, and a big visit from Fatboy Slim. The VIP section was also updated, as were the main stage, big screens and visuals.
The club also does its bit when it comes to local acts, with slots on every bill going to whoever has impressed the owners most with their recent sets or productions. As such, Revelin is now much more than just an essential night out for Croatians, but is very much up there with some of Europe's best clubs.
