Founded in 2002 and with an abundance of DJ residents that have come to receive worldwide acclaim, it’s no wonder Watergate in Berlin is still considered one of Europe’s most popular hubs for house and techno. Long-standing residents such as Marco Resmann, La Fleur and Sebo K have all been prominent on Watergate’s eponymous label, which since launching in 2008 has released various EPs, artist LPs, and delivered a mix series that’s now onto its 26th edition.

In the club, new faces like Jimi Jules and Kristin Velvet can regularly be found playing alongside globally established artists such as Delano Smith, Boo Williams, Osunlade, ANNA, Sven Väth, Sasha, Prosumer and Culoe De Song (the latter of whom mixed ‘Watergate 21’) — all booked in the last year.

2020 has already seen the label release two EPs by Frankey & Sandrino and Biesmans, and there’s undoubtedly more to come. Label showcases are also prominent at Watergate, having hosted parties from some of the most respected labels in the game, including R&S, Moon Harbour, Cocoon, Smallville, and Stil Vor Talent. Rare all-night-long sets from the likes of Pan-Pot have also become highlights — a chance to see artists take the crowd on a journey in an intimate setting, until the sun comes up across the Spree.
