Digital Newcastle

Location: Newcastle, UK
Capacity: 1,200

Considered a true gem of the North, Digital has been consistent in bringing talent from all around the world to Newcastle since it opened its doors in 2004. Located in Times Square not far from the city’s main railway station, the club was one of the first in the UK to run its very own Funktion-One Dancestack; a soundsystem of that calibre — there are in fact four in them in the Digital setup — was a trendsetter and a unique addition to the club. Open until 4am on weekends, in the past year headliners like Jeff Mills, Amelie Lens, DJ EZ, Hannah Wants and Solardo have all guested at the club.

Digital regularly collaborates with local promoters such as ape-X, who’ve run parties for over 10 years, and return to the club in May with Mall Grab, Jensen Interceptor and Madam X, alongside their usual residents. Other nights include the club’s very own Digital Presents series and the experimental theatre concept Carnival Of Fools.

Occasional Tuesdays also offer Cirque Du Soul, taking its inspiration from Moulin Rouge burlesque, and bookings favouring house and drum & bass; while weekend parties organised by promoters Loop and Resonate have booked some of the cream of the crop in techno.
