DJ Mag Top100 Clubs

Location: Hasselt, Belgium

Capacity: 3,000

You don’t just go to VERSUZ to dance, you go for the whole experience — it’s a superclub with an emphasis on the super. We’re talking ultra-modern moving walls, an in-house restaurant, lounge areas, a champagne bar and a cigar lounge.

VERSUZ was born in the Belgian city of Hasselt in 2002, where it secured its spot as a go-to dance music destination before moving to a new location at events area, Park H, in 2013. Here, the venue was built from scratch, allowing for a cutting-edge, bespoke design with an emphasis on sound and light, as well as a heightened capacity of more than 3,000 guests. Music-wise, there’s a whole range of genres on offer and names as massive as the building: DJs such as Tiësto, Roger Sanchez, Bob Sinclar and Martin Solveig have performed previously, as well as Amelie Lens and Spanish party Elrow.

But even though the club’s dancefloor is well-trodden, it still stands silent. At the time of writing, the venue is still not allowed to reopen, just like any other club in Belgium. Management has used this opportunity to install a new LED wall, redecorate the inside, and open up a new Ipanema Beach Club — so when the return does arrive, it will be well worth the wait.
