When DJ Mag spoke to fabric in 2021, its ambition was clear — to become London's 24/7 weekend party destination, harking back to the roots of the former meat storage cellar.
The 25,000-square-foot venue celebrates its 23d birthday this October, despite being forced to close twice. Following Covid-19 restrictions, it reopened last summer, kitted out with fitted acoustic panels, a concrete DJ booth and a new no-photos policy.
If a non-stop party is its mission, event series Continuum is its method, with artists who are no stranger to an extended set performing for over 24 hours. Ricardo Villalobos, Blawan, Willow, Afrodeutsche and Dr. Rubinstein have played over the past year and it’s set to relaunch this winter.
Many know the venue for its bass-heavy Friday nights, or Sunday sessions peppered with cutting-edge house and techno. fabric has also collaborated with groups such as He.She.They., Toi Toi and drum & bass icon Goldie for a series of special events throughout 2022.
No club is complete without trusted residents. Tapefeed, Ila Brugal, Jossy Mitsu, Hutch, Josh Caffe and Harry Mcanna join Craig Richards, Terry Francis, Anna Wall, Imogen, Mantra, Jaden Thompson, and Bobby on duty this year.
