Location: Madrid, Spain
Built by the promoters behind Spanish clubs Tropic Costa, Palladium, Radical and Kapital, FABRIK is the fruit of the Grupo Kapital team’s combined knowledge from 30-years working in Spain’s celebrated events industry. General manager Daniel Perellón tells DJ Mag that since reopening, it’s been “pure madness and this season has been one of the best we have ever had”. The club contains six areas — the Main Room, Hangar, Satellite, Club Area, Crystal and Open Air — and the team ensures each has a unique design, while maintaining a “TOP level” soundsystem. They recently added a new L-Acoustics soundsystem to the Hangar Stage too. Artists of the highest calibre — including Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Anetha, Amelie Lens and many more — have sountracked the mammoth space, and resident DJs Cesar Almena, Nuke and Raul Ortiz remain on the club’s roster.
Key nights include the techno-led CODE and an ongoing residency with elrow, holding four shows per year. FABRIK also hosts La Resistencia, aka “the biggest retro and old skool event in Spain”, curated by resident Raul Ortiz. While Covid-19 proved difficult for the club’s survival, FABRIK is currently back in full swing and continuing to attract a diverse crowd of enthusiastic clubbers.
