When Yann Pissenem moved to Ibiza in 2008, he happened upon “a wild, almost undiscovered empty beach” that reminded him of Ushuaïa, on the southernmost tip of Argentina. Inspired, Pissenem opened a free beachside cabana bar on the White Isle’s east coast. Now, that vision is Ushuaïa Ibiza, one of the world’s most famous clubs.
Ushuaïa Ibiza is made up of different elements. There’s the hotel, with 415 rooms and several restaurants and bars, but the main draw is Ushuaïa Ibiza’s legendary poolside stage, with its Adamson multi-diffusion soundsystem and 7,800-capacity open-air setting.

As with all venues, Ushuaïa Ibiza was directly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic — but as an open-air club, the team was able to programme restricted yet thoughtful events. In Summer 2021 the venue hosted Palmarama, a seated event that turned the club into a green oasis, with palm trees, high-end meals and DJs. Finally, on 30th April this year, Ushuaïa hosted its earliest-ever opening party — which sold out “in record time”, Pissenem tells us.

Throughout 2022, the club welcomes superstar residents: David Guetta’s F*** ME I'M FAMOUS!, CAMELPHAT and Solardo, Tomorrowland with Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, elrow, Martin Garrix, Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Armin van Buuren, Nicky Jam and ANTS; the latter an iconic Ibiza day-to-night immersive club experience devoted to sci-fi and soundtracked by house and techno DJs.

“Ibiza has woken up to the sound of electronic music again,” says Pissenem. “Everything points to 2022 being one of the busiest summers on record.”
