For the second year running, Hï Ibiza has claimed the top spot in our poll, thanks to its world-beating line-ups, striking design aesthetic and close attention to detail. Opened in 2017 on Ibiza’s famous Playa d’en Bossa strip by Ushuaïa Entertainment (the global entertainment company led by CEO Yann Pissenem), Hï Ibiza prides itself on being the world’s most technologically advanced club. A specially developed L-Acoustics system takes care of the sound, while its incredible production illuminates the club’s various spaces.

The Theatre, inspired by Italian amphitheatres, has a dancefloor surrounded by a raised terrace that hosts the VIP area. In addition to the CO2 Megatron, BB4 lasers and confetti, each residency there takes full advantage of the high-definition, full-width LED screen to ensure no two events look the same. The Club, another equally impressive room, has a low ceiling for heads-down, lost-in-the-music moments, a dancefloor-level DJ booth, and lighting installations that suffuse the space in a kaleidoscope of colours. The Wild Corner is an unofficial third room: in addition to the unisex bathrooms, there’s a state-of-the-art DJ booth right in the centre, and a ceiling lit up with vivid illuminations. Dancers who wander outside will encounter The Magic Garden and the Secret Garden, great spaces to cool off for a while before diving back into the fray, plus a VIP outdoor terrace with its own private bar.

One of the most impressive aspects of Hï Ibiza is the way the club is transformed for each event. The huge production team, numbering 80 people, works hard to ensure every residency looks and feels different, complementing the superior sound and world-class line-ups.

“There are many elements that make Hï Ibiza special, from the way the production changes every day, giving the club a completely new look and feel, to the special family bond we have created with our team and our incredible DJs, many of whom are the biggest artists on the planet,” says CEO Yann Pissenem. “But we know that it’s really the clubbers that make Hï Ibiza unique. That’s why, as a team, we pay attention to every little detail of the venue and continually strive to create the most outstanding events for all of our clients, every time they visit.”

In 2022, Hï Ibiza’s bookings were wide ranging, taking in main-stage artists, techno acts, house heads and disco lovers alike. The main residents included David Guetta, Black Coffee, The Martinez Brothers, Tale Of Us and Paco Osuna, while the Glitterbox crew foregrounded feel-good, uplifting dance music with their events. The guest DJs at the club, meanwhile, included everyone from steely techno types Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann to Detroit original DJ Minx, DJ Mag’s May cover star Jayda G and house boss Todd Terry.

For 2023’s Ibiza season, there are several new residencies in addition to the usual favourites. Eric Prydz will bring HOLO ïbiza to The Theatre on Mondays between 3rd July and 4th September — a club-compatible adaptation of his visually dazzling HOLO events — accompanied by fellow resident Adam Beyer. On the same day, Patrick Topping will take over The Club room for his debut Hï Ibiza residency.

Also, from 2nd June to 29th September, on the same nights that David Guetta and MORTEN take over The Theatre with FUTURE RAVE, chart-topping outfit Meduza and James Hype will bring a new residency of energetic and addictive house music to The Club.

The established nights, meanwhile, will wow visitors with marquee names throughout the season. On Tuesdays, The Martinez Brothers and Paco Osuna will bring the finest in house and techno; Wednesdays will boast FISHER and Vintage Culture; Tale Of Us bring the unearthly visuals and deep sonics of Afterlife to Thursdays; FUTURE RAVE is on Fridays, while Black Coffee and Damian Lazarus will electrify Saturdays. Sundays, meanwhile, are reserved for the inclusive, disco and house-fuelled Glitterbox.

This year, Hï Ibiza has had a visual rebrand, with the club’s logo and website getting a fresh look. The new logo has been designed by The Night League, Pissenem’s in-house creative events agency, and takes into account “the club’s sleek architecture and forward-thinking approach to clubbing”. Inspired by a more minimalist aesthetic, it has been created to reflect the future-facing ethos of the venue. But, in 2023, one thing remains unchanged: Hï Ibiza’s mission statement of making visits to the club unforgettable.

“Our number one goal is to create memories that last forever,” says Pissenem. “Our gift is seeing the people with their hands in the air, huge smiles on their faces, enjoying every single second. Our team works tirelessly all year round to create the best experience possible for the clubbers, from the moment they arrive at the venue to the time they leave to go home. We all try incredibly hard to make everything next level. Every detail is considered.”
