A skate park in the ‘90s, these days Motion is an ever-evolving nightclub and daytime dancing venue that is integral to Bristol’s nightlife scene. Open since 2003 in the centre of town, beside the River Avon, the building is a Grade II listed industrial warehouse consisting of five indoor spaces. The main room has an impressive 1,600 capacity, as does sister venue The Marble Factory, which focuses on live music curations. The Old Marble is one of the smaller rooms, but can still house 600 revellers, and the most intimate rooms are the Tunnel and the Cave, both designed for around 200 people.

Outside hosts the Lockyard, the Container Yard and Crane Yard, which all boast open-air dancefloors ideal for daytime raves and the summer season. Bookings in the past year include the likes of Jeff Mills, Floating Points, Chase & Status, JME, Hunee, and Mr Scruff to name a few. 2023 is already looking like the club’s busiest year yet, especially with the launch of new venture Document, and the team will be upping the ante on visuals and production, as well as focusing on booking high-calibre headliners throughout the year.
