Location: Tokyo, Japan
When WOMB opened its doors in Shibuya, Tokyo back in 2000, it paved the way for electronic music in Japan. At the time it was one of a kind, the largest nightclub in Tokyo, with an intention to introduce the city to electronic music from around the world and introduce local talent to a wider audience. Since then, resident DJs such as DJ Nobu have gained international recognition, and the club has presented collaborative nights in worldwide venues such as Space Ibiza, D-EDGE and fabric. International bookings in the past year have included Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin and Mathew Jonson to name a few, and over two decades on WOMB continues its status as one of Tokyo’s most iconic nightclubs.
