Matt first cut his turntable teeth on a wobbly pair of belt drives back in 1990. Since then he's DJed in just about every dance music-savvy country in the world and became instrumental to the success of Gatecrasher. An institution, it has to be said, that's not enjoyed the happiest year.
"I was sitting in my living room when I got the call from my manager with the news about the Gatecrasher One fire. I was pretty disbelieving at first," says Matt. "It's the club at which I made my name and I will never forget some of the amazing experiences I've had there... both personally and as a DJ."

Putting aside burnt-out spiritual homes and behind the decks injuries, Matt's had a great year.
"I've been all over the world again and you never get tired of that. Castle Dance in St Petersburg really stood out for me again this year... amazing production"!

Alongside John Askew, Matt's 'Live As…' mix series has been doing great business too.
"Essentially, it's all about a DJ having the balls to go out there and cut it live. John and I made a pact to put it out even if things went wrong on the night. It's back to where we used be; buying tapes off Graeme Park in the foyer at the Hacienda back in 1991. It's a warts and all representation of what went off on the night."
