James Zabiela
| NON MOVER

James Zabiela is a little bit loath to talk about his plans for the future, in case he "jinxes" anything. Which might come as a surprise when you consider that the man renowned for his love of scientific gadgets often seems like one of the most level-headed DJs around, but then, if you'd had the seemingly unstoppable ascent the Southampton-based spinner has enjoyed you'd be at pains to preserve any perceived lucky streak as well. And 2008 has been yet another incredible year for Zabiela, beginning with an Australian tour under the Good Vibrations banner with High Contrast and Cypress Hill amongst others. Sharing a tour bus with Cypress Hill, James discovered "they're awesomely funny guys and still proud potheads!" There was also his WMC party with Nic Fanciulli - following which they decided to put the One + One project on hold "so we keep it special" - his residency at Space in Ibiza, his Radio 1 Essential Mix live from Glastonbury and a recent gig on his birthday playing to 6000 people in Buenos Aires. In fact, the only downside is that all this travelling has kept Zabiela out of the studio, for whilst he's managed to complete two remixes for Spooky and Ladytron recently, his own much-anticipated solo album seems no closer to materialising. "I've been saying it's going to come out for years but you'll probably have to wait another few until it's finished," he admits.
