Calvin Harris has been busy during 2011, but it's paid off dividends for him.
Release-wise, Harris has put out several strong singles and EPs, including the downtempo disco riffing of 'Feel So Close' and collaborations with two of the most prominent US female soul/R&B artists - Kelis ('Bounce') and Rihanna ('We Found Love'), with both of the tracks enjoying considerable success in various charts around the globe.

In terms of live dates, things haven't looked too shabby for Calvin either. He's played various festivals and clubs everywhere from the Dominican Republic to Moscow to Las Vegas - and that was just September. As well as touring Australia with Rihanna, regular sets at Cream and appearances at Space also signalled another successful Ibiza season for Harris, who also ticked off plenty of UK festivals along his tour path, including Creamfields, V Festival and the Big Chill. He'll also be finishing 2011 in style, performing at the huge Rhythm and Vines New Year festival in New Zealand to usher in 2012.

Harris' Fly Eye label has continued to go from strength-to-strength, with releases from tech house DJ Nicky Romero and hotly-tipped electro producer Burns. Other Fly Eye tracks this year included a deliciously acid-washed electro-house 12” from Tommie Sunshine & Bart B More, 'Bodywork', which nicely complemented the upfront main-room vibe of other releases on the label, as did Harris' own 'Awooga' track - a laser-strewn electro stomper of an instrumental.

So, judging by his achievements in 2011, it seems a pretty safe bet that Harris' upcoming year will continue to yield further successes for him
