The old adage, “you don't get paid for DJing, you get paid for travelling” is especially true for Si Patterson, who has just had his busiest year to date with almost weekly gigs over Australia and North and South America.
“I still struggle with the sleep pattern!” he admits on the only downside to this increasing success.
Starting his own label Night Vision in 2011, “... so I could change up a little bit and put some tracks out there other than banging trance,” he turned his A&R skills (learnt working for Judge Jules) to releasing other artists too, topping the Beatport charts with numerous releases including his own 'Keep Quiet'.
“Going somewhere like Asia, they don't want to hear banging stuff, the breakdowns are too long,” he says on this growing interest in tempos other than 140bpm. “I think it's important for the label to release slower stuff so I have an array of stuff to choose from.”

All this, however, is a precursor, he hopes, for a long-player to arrive in 2012.
“I've got three strong vocal tracks that I want to save as the backbone. I know I was talking about an album last year, but it's difficult with all the travelling to find time to get the right material!” JOE ROBERTS
