| NEW ENTRY

By and large, 2014 seems to have been a thoroughly good year for Paris-born DJ Snake. The trap producer teamed up with Dillon Francis to release bassy stomper ‘Get Low’ at the beginning of the year, which — unsurprisingly — received a huge amount of club airplay. The duo recently gave the track a reworking via their ‘Rebirth in Paris’ version, which will doubtless create further waves.

Snake was also invited on Skrillex’s Mothership Tour, before being asked back once again for Skrillex’s Fall Tour. Not bad for a producer whose first official solo release came only in 2013 — though he wasn’t exactly silent before that, earning a Grammy nomination in 2012 for his production work on Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ album.

Elsewhere, he also played EDC Vegas, as well as numerous other live dates (some with pal Diplo). All very impressive, but Snake was recently forced to pull out of a scheduled appearance at the vast Beyond Wonderland festival (held in California this year) due to health issues.

Unfortunately, this also coincided with DJ Mag contacting Snake for his Top 100 DJs profile info, meaning he was unable to provide responses due to illness. Let’s hope he recovers soon and picks up where he left off, completing an otherwise great year and no doubt finding further success during 2015.
