“This year was definitely my breakout year,” says the young producer — a process kick-started by Jack U (Diplo and Skrillex’s collaboration) dropping 3Lau’s collaboration with Botnek, ‘Vikings’, at Ultra in March. But though 3Lau immediately proved he can lay down a club banger, he also showed he can write an engaging melody, with the acoustic version of his club track ‘How You Love Me’ with vocalist Bright Lights.

“From being No.1 across dance charts to receiving airplay on some of the biggest US mainstream radio stations, the record performed way beyond [what] I ever thought it could,” says 3Lau.

The final phase of 3Lau’s breakout? Fulfilling a dream, by playing the main stage at EDC Vegas. “It was my No.1 goal from the day I started DJing to play the festival, let alone play it for the first time on the main stage, and being the third most scheduled artist at the festival.”
