John O’Callaghan’s upward trajectory is unstoppable. 2014 has proved yet another outstanding year for the Irish trance hero, growing his personal profile thanks to a non-stop summer of international sets, as well as new signings and quick fire releases on his ever-popular imprint, Subculture.

Boasting an impressive trance-centric artist roster, the Subculture radio show and, of course, a whole bunch of wicked, laser-laden parties, Subculture is now O’Callaghan’s number one focus.
“I want to really grow Subculture,” he tells DJ Mag.

Describing his sound as “genuine trance”, O’Callaghan is quick to cite his set at this year’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami as his 2014 highlight. “It was Ultra and I was playing b2b with Aly & Fila, and just seeing a packed stage go off for uplifting trance!” And it doesn’t stop at Miami. John O’Callaghan has spent his year in true jet-set fashion, taking Subculture around the globe, from Argentina to Australia, from Chicago to Croatia.

If there’s one thing John O’Callaghan is, it’s complimentary; you get the impression from him that he really loves his fans. “Touring the world playing to amazing trance fans who support good music passionately!” he gushes to DJ Mag about his plans for 2015. Warm and fuzzies all round!
