On the international stage, and for a good few years now, Andrew Rayel’s been one the Republic of Moldova’s most recognisable musical faces.
Having released his debut album 18 months back, this year the classically-trained musician’s been keeping the ‘Find Your Harmony’ fires well stoked through a variety of brand offshoots. Hitting its 50th episode back in July, his fortnightly Find Your Harmony Radio Show passed its first significant milestone. The 24-year-old marked it with a live show broadcast from The Armada Club — his label’s rather wonderful-sounding ‘club-in-an-office’.

He’s also been packing out his Find Your Harmony residencies at various EDM hotspots (Las Vegas’ Marquee among them). Outside of those, it’s been all hands on decks at festivals like Ultra, Miami, NY’s Electric Zoo: Wild Island, Creamfields, ASOT 750 and Dreamstate. A turn on Tomorrowland’s main stage was also one of his 2016 standout highlights.

Remix-wise, Andrew’s been keeping every bit as on-point, working on rewires of Armin’s ‘Embrace’ and ‘Again’ tracks. He’s also been tackling the likes of Dash Berlin’s ‘Till The Sky Falls Down’, Dimitri Vegas/Like Mike/Ne-Yo collab ‘Higher Place’ and ‘Wake The Giant’ for Tommy Trash.

December’s release of ‘Rise Of The Era’ saw Andrew sign off on the last of his ‘Find Your Harmony’ singles. He’s since been putting out fresh material at pace. The summer brought team-ups with KhoMha on ‘All Systems Down’ and ‘Winterburn’, alongside Digital X. Stand-alone tracks like ‘Epiphany’ and vocal-led numbers including ‘Once In A Lifetime Love’ with Kristina Antuna have proved equally as popular. His latest drop was something of a departure though, taking him back to his classical/piano roots. While he might be away circling the globe most weekends, the home country-championing ‘The Heart Of Moldova’ demonstrates that Andrew still knows what time it is back in Chișinău. KIM O'CONNOR
