Paul van Dyk

After an accident that nearly took his life in 2016, it was a long road back for Paul van Dyk. But his millions of trance disciples were more than happy to wait, and in 2017 he has taken up his throne once more. He’s been back on the road playing supersize shows all over the planet, but also busy in the studio working on his eighth studio album.

As well as touring and studio work, Paul continues to host his own radio show — VONYC Sessions — on Dash Radio, and his latest instalment was a retrospective that looked back on his “journey through music from 1994 to 2017”. It’s been quite the ride, and stylistically has stayed true to teary-eyed emotions, big room synths and high-energy drums that unite thousands each and every weekend.

He’s also just released ‘I Am Alive,’ the fourth single from the upcoming ‘From Then On’ album, and it’s one he called his most personal track yet. “It's a song full of energy and passion — a celebration of life,” said the track’s accompanying blurb, which was the first one he wrote after that accident last year. Fans will surely be happy he is back.
