Maceo Plex
| NEW ENTRY

Maceo Plex (real name: Eric Estornel) is a force to be reckoned with. Making music under multiple aliases over the last decade — including Maetrik, Mariel Eto and, of course, his Maceo moniker — his output has been both prolific and unfaltering. He’s released multiple albums, though it was his debut on Crosstown Rebels, titled ‘Life Index’, that shot him to underground ubiquity, alongside his well-documented candidness and technical DJ skills.

With a penchant for minimal and abstract sounds, as well as a love of classic techno, old skool electro and experimental nu-wave, Maceo Plex’s back catalogue is a vast and complex affair — but that’s all part of Eric Estornel’s unquestionable appeal. It's his musical output that's landed him a spot in the Top 100 DJs poll this year, alongside his popular Mosaic By Maceo residency at Pacha that he launched in 2016, after a decade of playing other people’s parties on the island. His Mosaic party has allowed him to bring many of his favourite acts to the White Isle, including Red Axes, Agents Of Time, Pearson Sound, Stephan Bodzin, Derek Plaslaiko and many more, plus multiple artists signed to his ultra-successful imprint, Ellum Audio.

He's also locked down a slew of gigs across the world until December — including New Year's with Awakenings in Amsterdam plus sets in NYC, Paris and Rome — sealing 2017 as one of Plex's most triumphant years to date.
