Poll 2022: David Guetta
David Guetta

From: France

DJ style: EDM

Best known for: F*** Me I'm Famous

After two consecutive wins, David Guetta has been knocked off the top spot, but is still very much one of the most prominent electronic artists in the world. In the last year, he has continued to produce chart-topping hits such as 'What Would You Do' with Joel Corry and Bryson Tiller, ‘Crazy What Love Can Do’ with Becky Hill and Ella Henderson, and 'Permanence' with MORTEN. His most recent tune, 'I'm Good (Blue)' with Bebe Rexha, gave him his seventh UK number one as an artist and his 10th number one as a producer. All this means that he has now amassed over 65 million record sales and more than 10 billion streams, which are numbers few can match.

After two years away due to the pandemic, Guetta made a triumphant return to the island that initially played such a big role in making him who he is. His F*** Me I'm Famous party was one of the island's first globally recognised brands soon after it launched in 2003. Almost 20 years later it is still one of the busiest of the week and this summer it set up at new home Ushuaïa Ibiza every Monday from June until October. One September night, in particular, went viral when Guetta invited special guest Ed Sheeran on stage to perform his global hit 'Bad Habits' to a packed house at the iconic club. "This is a fucking dream come true," yells Guetta in the video.

As well as that, the French icon also took his Future Rave sound to the White Isle. Every Friday from June through to September, he and collaborator MORTEN hosted Hï Ibiza's Theatre alongside guests such as Idris Elba, ARTBAT and Vintage Culture. "I missed Ibiza so much. This is definitely my favourite place on earth," he tweeted after the closing party, which was streamed to millions around the world on TikTok live.

The two-time Grammy winner had a monstrous festival season too, with a notable set at Ultra Music Festival in Miami and a new DJ residency at Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas.
