It’s been a vintage year for main stage dance crew Pink Panda. They’ve taken their accessible, pop-tinged beats to more places than ever before, touring across 15 countries and playing at world renowned spots like Laroc Club Brazil and Ushuaïa. They joined Hardwell on part of his Rebels Never Die tour, and DJ’d in the USA for the first time at The Bill Graham venue in San Francisco.

The brightly-hued bears also had a productive year in the studio, putting out a parade of bangers on labels like Revealed, Spinnin’ and UFO Recordz, and collaborated with artists such as Elize, Sunset Strippers, Menrva, Jessica and many more.

Pink Panda have become hotshot remixers, giving a club-geared edge to pop artists like Bruno Mars, Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga — but their next remix project is arguably their biggest yet. “To top everything off, we’ve just been asked by Elton John and Britney Spears to remix their single ‘Hold Me Closer’,” they say.

What’s the best DJ set you’ve seen this year?

“Hardwell’s Rebels Never Die tour at Ushuaïa. It was mind-blowing!”

Name one great festival you played for the first time this year…

“Ultra Europe — it was a dream come true. We had the best afterparty too in the VIP watching Afrojack, Martin Garrix and Hardwell sets from the best seats in the house.”

What’s the longest DJ set you’ve ever played?

“Six hours. When we were residents at Ministry Of Sound, the headliner was cancelled last minute, so we played the whole night in The Box. It was epic.”

What’s one piece of studio hardware you wish you owned?

“The stereo Fairchild 670 [compressor]. The masters would be next level, haha.”

What’s the last tune you bought?

“We bought our own track ‘Obsessed’ on Beatport because it was flying and we didn’t want it to stop rising, so we thought every purchase would help… sorry, not sorry.”

What’s the next big sound?

“For us, melodic house/progressive.”
