DJ style: Trap and beyond
Best known for: Hit tracks, signature sunglasses
Grammy Award-nominated and multiple platinum DJ and producer William Sami Étienne Grigahcine, aka DJ Snake, remains rooted in the Top 100 DJs poll for his ninth consecutive year. 2023 has been a glitzy affair for the Parisian producer who kicked things off by mixing at the edge of the field at the Super Bowl, America’s most iconic sporting event, in February. Snake made his musical return in the summer with his first single of the year, ‘Westside Story’, a G-funk-indebted dancefloor stomper that begs for replays. His 2013 collaboration with Lil Jon, ‘Turn Down For What’, was also certified eight times platinum by the RIAA.
In the commercial realms, he followed in the footsteps of Cardi B, BTS, Travis Scott and J Balvin by linking up with the world’s biggest fast-food chain, McDonald’s, in June to create a signature meal for its French restaurants. He performed a raucous set at one of the branches in Paris while employees dished out food. Snake has been touring the world, making stops at Croatia’s Ultra Europe, Brooklyn Mirage, Creamfields, Las Vegas’ Zouk, EDC China and elsewhere, with a set booked at Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in November.
