Never one to rest on past achievements, Paul van Dyk — perhaps best known for helping to spark a global movement with classic trance tracks like 'For An Angel' — has launched a new event series and label over the last year. Billed as a live music concept, VENTURE X began with a run of shows in February across North America including dates in Toronto, New York, Montreal, Pontiac, Denver, Portland, San Francisco and Austin. Speaking about the series, Paul van Dyk explains, “VENTURE X allows me to explore the width of what electronic music means to me, not just what people expect me to play.”
Alongside his new event series, PvD also returned to Eden for the fourth season of his SHINE Ibiza residency, which ran from July through to September, and hosted guests including Ferry Corsten, John O’Callaghan, Bryan Kearney, Alex M.O.R.P.H., Jordan Suckley, Stoneface & Terminal and more. Van Dyk also continued to push his VANDIT Alternative imprint — a sub-label of his hugely successful label, VANDIT — which he says puts “a fresh focus on progressive and tech”. PvD has used the platform to release music from himself, as well as Jordan Gill, Alex Morelli, Vakabuler & Hoten and Annunakis
