Adam Beyer first entered the Top 100 DJs poll in 2003. 20 tireless years later, he remains one of techno’s best-known figureheads, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. His first release of 2023 — a thundering single called ‘Legend’ — felt like a testament to this longevity. Landing on his powerhouse label Drumcode, it was among the first of its many releases this year. It was preceded by ‘Drumcode 2022’ in January, a 21-track collection packed with prominent anthems played out at the megabrand’s myriad events around the world over the previous 12 months.

Beyer’s own gig schedule has been as packed as ever too. He joined Eric Pyrdz at Hï Ibiza every Monday this summer as part of his fellow Swede’s HOLO residency, and made stops at Ushuaïa Ibiza for ANTS, DC-10 for Solid Grooves, and Amnesia for Elrow and Pyramid. He took over London’s Printworks for a final time with Drumcode in March, made his Coachella debut in April, and played festivals including Tomorrowland, Junction 2 and Creamfields. Meanwhile, his recent collab with Green Velvet and ‘Robot Arms’ EP have been making substantial waves on global dancefloors. It’s safe to say Beyer is still at the top of his game.
