We are launching a brand new DJ Mag Label Takeover live stream series this Saturday (20th February).
Every month DJ Mag will partner up with our favourite record labels to curate a virtual event line-up, livestreamed to our Facebook, YouTube and Twitch channels.
This Saturday, we're delighted to announce we are teaming up with the London-based label and party He.She.They.
Louisahhh has shared the video for her new track, 'Feral Rhythm'.
Described as “a modern anthem, a call to action, a loving upsetter”, the DJ, producer, vocalist and label boss has shared suitably abravise visuals to accompany the industrial EBM cut.
The EP featured as one of DJ Mag's Killers in September, with remixes from Manni Dee, RAAR co-founder Maelstrom and Curses.
Check out the hypnotic video directed by Jonathan Mandel below.
Louisahhh will release her new single ‘Feral Rhythm’ on 6th September via her own RAAR imprint.
The track offers just what its title suggests. Described as “a modern anthem, a call to action, a loving upsetter”, the track is a ferocious industrial EBM cut with rousing vocal incantations and a noisy backbone.
As an advocate for those who dare to be different and someone who strives for inclusivity for ravers from all walks of life, Pillot has been heartened by the resurgence of a punk ethos and attitude throughout the undergound. "It feels like an incredibly exciting moment for dance music [reclaiming] its anti-establishment, punk roots" she says, adding that she thinks the mainstream has, surprisingly, had a considerable influence on the change.
Last year, on his album ‘The Desecration of Desire’ on the Brighton’s longstanding SKINT label, Dave Clarke invited the mighty Louisahhh to perform vocals on a cover. The track in question was an atmospheric trip hop rework of Department S’ 1980 post-punk/new wave hit ‘Is Vic There?’ and it featured the Paris-based U.S. producer, DJ and vocalist delivering a haunting rendition on top of Clarke’s low, growling percussion and industrial bass sounds.
"Oh, I’ve done a lot of very different stuff,” LOUISAHHH!!! grins at DJ Mag across a backstage corridor. “I’m a certified cycling instructor, for example,” she laughs. “Oh, and I can train horses, that too.” She laughs again, even harder. “Basically, I have a really bizarre skill-set that’s only useful in a very specific context!”
‘Bitter Music Remixed EP01’
In celebration of his recent release with Louisahhh - 'RAAR004' on their own imprint RAAR (check it out here), we asked Maelstrom to put together a playlist packed full of his favourite afterparty tracks.
Here's what he had to say on her playlist and listen to it below.
