BESTIVAL BIRTHS COMMON PEOPLE

Rob Da Bank announces the first ever Common People in Southampton

Bestival head honcho Rob Da Bank has just announced the line-up for the first edition of his brand-new festival Common People, with Fatboy Slim set to headline.

The festival will be a two-day metropolitan adventure, set in the verdant surrounds of Southampton Common. Bestival and Common People curator Rob Da Bank said, “It’s been a long time coming to launch a new show from the Bestival family. We thought long and hard before deciding to base our new show in Southampton... I played my first ever DJ gig in Southampton when I was 16, so this is a real homecoming for me.”

Acts set to perform at the two-day festival which takes place on 23rd and 24th May will include De La Soul, Jaguar Skills, Clean Bandit and Southampton’s own Band Of Skulls.

Our Best Small Club award winners at 2013's Best Of British awards — Junk — will bring their own brand of invigorating house and techno at the inaugural event. Dusky, Huxley, Dense & Pika and Leon Vynehall are all confirmed to perform. Local club Switch will also be presenting a stage.
