Cabasa will release his new ‘Bird Tool’ EP, later this week, featuring a remix from NYC’s Ayesha. Listen to her ‘Drums You Can Touch Dub’ of the title track below.

Almost exactly a year on from the release of his mystical ‘Oody Fnk’ EP, the Belgian DJ and producer returns with four pared-back, percussive transmissions for London’s Control Freak Recordings. In line with the label’s all-tabs-open approach to tempo, ‘Bird Tool’ swerves from mutant halftime minimalism to 140 BPM badness, as the Brussels-based artist continues to restlessly innovate in the margins between leftfield bass, breaks and dubstep.

The EP closer comes courtesy of NYC-based producer Ayesha, who released her debut album ‘Rhythm Is Memory’ on Kindergarten Records in September. Bringing a similar clinical precision to CF, she delivers a slick ‘Drums You Can Touch’ dub of ‘Bird Tool’, layering glitching vocalisations and pendulous, organic percussion over Cabasa’s juddering basslines.

‘Bird Tool’ is out 26th April via Control Freak. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Bird Tool (Ayesha’s Drums You Can Touch Dub)’.
