AZEALIA BANKS DEFENDS ZAYN MALIK TWITTER RANT

She’s refusing to apologise...

After Azealia Banks was dropped from Rinse’s Born & Bred festival yesterday (11th May) after a racist and homophobic Twitter rant, she has issued a new statement addressing the issue on the social media platform.

Having branded Zayn Malik a “curry scented b****” and his mother “a dirty refugee who won’t be granted asylum”, Banks refused to back down, whilst also defending her comments about 14-year-old Disney star Skai Jackson’s mother “pimping” her out.

In reference to Malik, Banks’ statement claimed, “I said what I said to Zayn because I was angry. I had to remind him that we were both in the same boat in this industry and people of colour.”

She continued, “By reminding him not matter what you may think of yourself, the world still sees you as ‘other.’” You can read the full statement below.
