Ben UFO shares two Dekmantel mixes: Listen
From festival headliner to year-end podcast curator...
Ben UFO helped keep the holiday season lively with a fresh set of mixes. The Londoner dropped a new Dekmantel mix on both Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Whereas much of the music world stays quiet (aside from the run of NYE shows) during the last few weeks of December, Ben UFO went all in across the two mixes and two hours of tunes.
After headlining the label’s flagship summer festival in Amsterdam, Ben UFO was an impeccable choice to curate the series.
Speaking about the mixes, he said, “I went about this in the same way I would go about making a tape: two distinct but related ideas that I think work better on their own than if I'd tried to jam them together somehow.”
Dekmantel details that “side-a [is] an often heady affair with plenty of open space for you to get lost in" and "side-b plots a more high pressure and intense trajectory.”
Dekmantel celebrated selections within DJ Mag’s Top Albums and Top Tracks of the year.
