The Chemical Brothers, Skrillex, Flowdan, James Blake, Fred Again.., and Aphex Twin are among the acts nominated for awards at the 2024 Grammys.
Best Dance/Electronic Music Album nods have gone to The Chemical Brothers (‘For That Beautiful Feeling’), James Blake (‘Playing Robots Into Heaven’), Fred Again.. (‘Actual Life 3 [January 1 - September 9 2022]’), Kx5 (‘Kx5’), and Skrillex (‘Quest for Fire’).
Aphex Twin is nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Recording (‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f’) alongside Disclosure (‘Higher Than Ever Before’), James Blake (‘Loading’), Romy & Fred Again.. (‘Strong’), and Skrillex, Fred Again.. & Flowdan (‘Rumble’).
Elsewhere in the R&B, rap and pop realms, SZA leads the pack with a total of nine nominations including Record Of The Year (‘Kill Bill’) and Album Of The Year (‘SOS’). Phoebe Bridgers, whose seven nods include some of her work with the supergroup Boygenius (Album Of The Year, ‘The Record’), follows close behind.
Victoria Monét gets plenty of recognition across R&B categories as well as for Record Of The Year (‘On My Mama’) and Best New Artist.
In rap, Doja Cat is nominated for Best Rap Song (‘Attention’) as well as Drake and 21 Savage (‘Rich Flex’). Nominees for Best Rap Album include Killer Mike (‘Michael’), Nas (‘King’s Disease III’), and Travis Scott (‘Utopia’).
Three new categories have been added this year: Best Alternative Jazz Album, Best Pop Dance Recording, and Best African Music Performance.
The 2024 Grammys ceremony takes place on Sunday, 4th February 2024 at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. It’s broadcast on CBS and Paramount+.
The annual Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony precedes the event.
