Elkka has shared details of her debut album, ‘Prism of Pleasure’ alongside its lead single ‘Make Me'. Listen to it below.

The Cardiff-born, London-based DJ, producer and live artist will release the album via Ninja Tune on 3rd May. Written over the space of 18 months, it explores queer intimacy, freedom and sensuality across 10 tracks.

According to a press release, the album was inspired by the freedom and intimacy of queer parties like UNFOLD, playing DJ sets at Panorama bar, and queer saunas. The album also features previously released singles, 'Passionfruit' featuring John Carroll Kirby and 'I Just Want To Love You'.

“It’s like a celebration of [how far] I’ve come,” added Elkka, real name Emma Kirby. “I was never taught about queer pleasure. I was never taught how important that is - not just sexually but generally in life. So I wanted to explore all of that more deeply.”

“I wanted a rawness to this album, " she added. "It’s something that can be felt, and that helps you connect with someone that’s listening to it if you’re willing to expose a part of yourself. And again, this is all really transferable to relationships, and being with someone, all of that stuff. That’s why these things overlap for me. I gave everything I could, and hopefully that translates.”

Elkka has also announced four ‘Elkka Presents: Prism of Pleasure’ shows in May, kicking off at Badaboum in Paris on 4th May before stopping off Brussels (11th), Manchester (17th) and London (18th).

The 'Prism of Pleasure' news comes four months after Elkka shared 'Babe' from her club-led EP 'DJ Friendly,' which was released via Ninja Tune in October.
