Kerri Chandler remixes Jayda G’s ‘Scars’: Listen
The edit marks the second in a series of remixes from Jayda’s sophomore album, ‘Guy’
Kerri Chandler has teamed up with Jayda G for a remix of ‘Scars’. Check it out below.
Originally appearing on Jayda’s recent Ninja Tune full-length, ‘Scars’ gets a reworking from the New Jersey house legend, who adds his signature deep house touch to the original.
The remix has already received heavy rotation in Jayda’s DJ sets, including her recent Boiler Room London show, and marks the second in a series of remixes taken from ‘Guy’, following David Ariza’s club edit of ‘When She Dance’, released earlier this month.
Speaking about the remix, Jayda said: “I feel truly honoured to receive this killer edit from the legendary Kerri Chandler. Been playing this out for a minute and he lifted “scars” to a whole new level. Thank you Kerri!!”
Released through Ninja Tune in June, ‘Guy’ marked the Canadian artist’s second full-length record for the label, after 2019’s ‘Significant Changes’. The record was co-produced with UK artist Jack Peñate, and also features contributions from Ibeyi's Lisa-Kaindé Diaz, among others.
In July, Kerri Chandler announced that Madhouse Records, the label that he co-founded with Mel Medalie, is to cease trading. All of Chandler’s own Madhouse releases will move over to his Kaoz Theory label, while the remaining records will become part of its parent label, Champion Records.
Last year, Chandler performed a special reel-to-reel tape and hologram live set at The Roundhouse, Camden, with two hours of his set available to watch exclusively via DJ Mag.
