Metalheadz launches new non-d&b label, HeadzState

Legendary drum & bass record label Metalheadz has announced a new imprint, HeadzState, which will deal with tunes on a different tip to its decades-spanning and genre-defining parent.
Billed as a place to showcase "what the foundations of techno represent and the evolution of those sounds over the last 30 plus years", the outlet takes influence from feted names like Nookie, 4Hero, and Doc Scott, all of who are referenced in the launch details.
Tribute will be paid to the sonic intersection between Detroit and Berlin, which combined helped catalyse a plethora of dance sub-genres and scenes since the two cities first began nurturing prominent electronic music cultures.
According to a spokesperson from the crew: "With the main label and its own various offshoots continuing to host cutting edge drum and bass, HeadzState is a place where we'll celebrate a 'golden age' of music, pushing artists to go even further outside the box and no doubt basking in the results for years to come. A very exciting time here at HQ, the announcement of the first HeadzState release is due imminently."
