There's a Fyre Festival spoof movie in the works starring Seth Rogan

Seth Rogan is working with Lonely Island (Jorma Taccone, Akiva Schaffer and Andy Samberg) on a spoof film about “a music festival that goes HORRIBLY WRONG”.

One can only assume their inspiration is Fyre Festival, 2017's failed ‘luxury’ event that promised an island utopia and delivered plastic cheese and soggy mattresses.

First announced in a 2017 tweet, Taccone has confirmed, in an interview with The Daily Beast, that the film is indeed underway.

Declaring it as similar to Lonely Island’s 2016 film Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, he said it’s “something that Akiva and Seth cooked up, and we’re figuring it all out right now,” adding that the Netflix documentary FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened is a big inspiration.

Following revelations in the documentary about how much money many of those hired to work for Fyre Festival lost personally, over £120k was raised for one worked via GoFundMe.
