Martin Garrix drops new track under his Area21 alias

The Dutch EDM star revives his AREA21 side-project for another collab with Maejor...

Martin Garrix has shared a new track under his AREA21 monicker. 'Happy', which follows the massively successful 'Glad You Came' from December 2017, 'We Did It', 'Girls' and 'Spaceship', is another collaboration with Detroit-based vocalist/rapper Maejor, who has co-written every AREA21 release.

The mid-tempo dancehall and hip hop leaning track is described simply as being about "spreading happiness". As the duo explain it, "if you say you’re happy, you will feel happier". It comes companioned with an equally playful, summery video. You can watch that below.

This track is the first new music to come the 21-year-old producer in 2018 and kicks off what is shaping up to be another huge year. Garrix will bring his STMPD RCRDS stage back to the totally sold-out Tomorrowland festival this July for the second year running. A documentary, What We Started, which centres on the careers of Garrix and Carl Cox in telling the story of dance music's ever-changing culture will debut in March and will be available on Netflix from June.
