Premiere: Dave Clarke feat. Louisahhh 'IVT? (Chloé Remix)'

French producer and composer Chloé crafts a driven, mesmerising rework of Clarke and Louisahhh’s cover of a new wave classic...

Last year, on his album ‘The Desecration of Desire’ on the Brighton’s longstanding SKINT label, Dave Clarke invited the mighty Louisahhh to perform vocals on a cover. The track in question was an atmospheric trip hop rework of Department S’ 1980 post-punk/new wave hit ‘Is Vic There?’ and it featured the Paris-based U.S. producer, DJ and vocalist delivering a haunting rendition on top of Clarke’s low, growling percussion and industrial bass sounds.

Speaking about his collaboration with Louisahhh, Clarke said, “Her voice is outstanding and her company educational, so I doubt this will be our last work together.”

Now, SKINT is about to release a new EP featuring the track and two remixes, set for release this Friday 23rd March. French producer, composer and Lumière Noire label boss Chloé – who released the wonderful 'Endless Revisions' last year – has stepped up with her own version of the track for the release, which you can hear below.

Chloé’s remix is dancefloor ready, carried a deep groove that pushes forward with a sturdy bass and hefty kick. Former DJ Mag UK cover star Louisahhh’s vocals are twisted and manipulated into disorienting, robotic patterns on top swerving synth backdrops and hi hats making a thoroughly satisfying, if dizzying, listening experience.

The other remix on the EP comes from dub legend Mad Professor.

The ‘IVT?’ EP is out digitally this Friday 30th March and on vinyl on 7th April.
