Premiere: Secretsundaze ‘Still Hope feat. Anthony Anaxagorou’

London-honed party brand, label, studio and DJ/production duo Secretsundaze project years of experience into their new single ‘Still Hope’, a breathtaking deep house gem with powerful spoken vocals from Anthony Anaxagorou…

Secretsundaze is one of the most revered house music outlets to have come out of London in the past two decades. The brainchild of DJs Giles Smith and James Priestley, in the past 16 years Secretsundaze has evolved from being an influential day party to a global party brand which sports a label, a London studio. Not only that but the pair remain regular features in some of the best clubs in the world, from Panorama Bar to Pickle Factory.

As early champions of some of the most exciting artists on the scene at present, from Palms Trax to Shanti Celeste, Secretsundaze are perhaps better known for their propping up of the music of others. However, last year, they released their long overdue debut track, ‘Motorway Jam’.

Now, the pair are set to release their next outing and, boy, it’s testament to how good things can be when patience is embraced. ‘Still Hope’ is set to be released this month on Phonica Records featuring two variants on the original mix and two edits courtesy of Waajeed.

The track – which you can hear below – is the sort of sunset tinted deep house gem that beautifully compliments those  summer evenings spent sat by a body of water (any body of water: dirty canal, beach shoreline, etc etc). Its steady percussion, quietly swelling keys and reserved bass prop up the transfixing spoken words of poet and essayist Anthony Anaxagorou, all coalescing to become the sort of track you’ll always associate with warming nostalgia, serenity and, naturally, hope.
