It's a busy week for Simian Mobile Disco, aka the partnership of Jas Shaw and James Ford, who've just released 'Unpattern', their fifth album, which draws influences from the current taste for bass, as well as tempering their high grade techno with housier tones.
Fresh from appearing on Mary Anne Hobb's XFM show for a 25 minute mix, the 16th of May welcomes them to Zane Lowe's Radio One show. Then on Thursday 17th May they make a very special intimate instore appearance at London institution Phonica Records. Starting at 7pm, early birds will also be rewarded with free refreshments courtesy of Tiger Beer. Check the Facebook event here.
Friday 18th of May welcomes the official Unpatterns album launch at Fabric. Having programmed room one, SMD are joined by Blondes playing live and DJ sets from Objekt and Daniel Avery. Pinch's label Tectonic are in room two meanwhile, whilst room three is hosted by Sonic Router.
Finally, if you want to hear the album in it's entirety, download the official Unpatterns app for iPad and iPhone here. And if you've missed all that, catch them on tour instead!
